Services for Lt. Howard F. Kohl, 27, who was killed in action Oct. 11, 1944, in the European theater, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Federated church by the American Legion. Burial will be in the Lisbon cemetery.

The body will arrive in Lisbon Wednesday morning.

Lt. Kohl, born at Rhoades, Ia. Oct. 16, 1918, was graduated from the Lisbon high school in 1936 and from Coe college in 1941. He was a member of the R.O.T.C. at Coe all four years. He entered the service in March, 1942, and received his commission at Ft. Benning, Ga.

Sent overseas in April, 1944, he was stationed in England until July, 1944, when he joined the 101st airborne division as a replacement officer. He participated in the invasion of Holland in September and was in action until he lost his life five days before his 28th birthday.

Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. I. Kohl, a daughter, Sylvia, whom he never saw, two sisters, Mrs. O. G. Sidwell of Lone Tree and Mrs. Rowena Miller of Dawson. The family requests flowers be omitted.
