Leola Marguerite Williams Nash 1911- 2003

Leola M. Nash, 92, a resident of Bettendorf Health Care Center, formerly of Marion, died Tuesday, December 23, 2003, in the care center following a short illness. Services: 11 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2003, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion, by the Rev. Maynard Hatch. Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include her two daughters, a sister,and a beloved sister-in-law.

Also surviving are eight grandchildren and twenty cherished great-grandchildren. Leola was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ralph, an adored son-in-law, Franklin Camp, three brothers, Claude Williams, James Williams, and “Bud” Lloyd Williams; two sisters, Nettie Wilson and Velma Goss; two half brothers, Cal Williams and Orrel Strawhacker; and a half sister, Mary Osborne.

Leola was born the daughter of Grant and Bertha Soden Williams on March 1, 1911, in Palo. On September 25, 1929, she was united in marriage to Ralph P. Nash. He died January 2, 1989. The couple farmed in the Marion and Springville area and managed the Marion Mobile Home Court for many years. Leola was a member of First Baptist Church in Davenport.
Leola dearly loved her husband Ralph, bowling with friends, playing bingo, and spoiling her grandchildren.
