Gladys Z. Ebsen, 81, of 1406 Hamilton St. SW, a Cedar Rapids resident for 55 years, died Wednesday [10/1982] at her home following a long illness. Born Aug. 18, 1901, at Gary S.D., she married Hubert B. Ebsen on Nov. 3, 1919, at Mora, Min. He died in 1976. She was a professional chef for 25 years and a member of First Lutheran Church for 31 years.
Surviving are one son, Delbert of Cedar Rapids; three daughters, Zelda Eckley, Ardith Biederman and DeLaine Kessell, all of Cedar Rapids; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Alta Rawson of Cedar Rapids, Celia Camp of Viola, Iowa, and Vera Hilton of California.
Services: 1 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories by the Rev. Richard Mayfield of First Lutheran Church. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home after 4 p.m. today and at the chapel after noon Saturday. The casket will be closed prior to services.
