Gottlieb Schmickle Dies.

Gottlieb G. Schmickle, 87, of Alburnett, a retired farmer, died Sunday at 5:45 a.m. in a Cedar Rapids hospital following a brief illness.
Born April 27, 1864, in Germany, he came to Linn county with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Schmickle, when nine years old.
He was married to Anna O. Heuer Feb. 26, 1891 at Lafayette. Mrs. Schmickle died May 27, 1933.
He was a member of the Lafayette Evangelical U.B. church.
Surviving are two sons, Raymond, Marion and Harold, Boone; a daughter, Mrs. George Andrew, Alburnett, seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild; a brother, John A. Schmickle, Alburnett, and a sister, Mrs. Lillie Mollenhauer, Center Point.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Evangelical U.B. church, Alburnett by the Rev. R.E. Kerney and the Rev. J.A. Heahlen. Burial will be in Lafayette cemetery. Friends may call at Yocom-Murdoch chapel.
