Sylvia V. Schmickle Dies at Center Point

Alburnett – Sylvia A. Schmickle, 86, a lifelong resident of the Lafayette community, died Wednesday at a Center Point nursing home. She was born Feb. 19, 1883, at Lafayette. On March 7, 1907, she was married to John A. Schmickle at Lafayette. Mrs. Schmickle was a member of the Lafayette Christian church.
Surviving, besides her husband, are three daughters, Mrs. Al Cardina and Mrs. S. Corso, both of Glencoe, Ill., and Mrs. Robert Stratman of Spokane Wash.; a son Kenneth Schmickle of Alburnett, and two grandsons.
Services: 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Lafayette Christian church. Burial: Lafayette cemetery. Friends may call at the Murdoch chapel in Center Point after 9 a.m. Thursday.
