On the 4th, as Mr. S. C. Bever, of Cedar Rapids, was trimming a tree in front of his house, standing in part upon a ladder, his foot slipped, and he fell about fifteen feet. He was greatly bruised and jarred, but no bones were broken, and after suffer fearfully from lack of breath for a few minutes, began to revive, and by next morning was much better.
