In looking further, I think I've found more info on your Hott family! On pages 426-427 in the Portrait And Biographical Album of Lee County, Iowa, Chapman Brothers, Chicago, 1887: A biography of George Hott, born OH 1812, son of Peter Hott. This George Hott and his first wife, Jane Dean, had seven children, one of whom was a son Peter, born 1834. This Peter married first Mary Harlan and second to Anna Lane.
