! Milton was listed in the Montrose, Lee County, Iowa 1850 census as being newly married and a wagonmaker by trade.

!He is listed in "Past and Present of Shelby County, Iowa" Vol I 1915 page 208 as being the 1st sheriff of Shelby County in 1854.

His sister,Elvira, married Robert Dunning in 1857 and moved to Kansas City, Wyandotte Co, Kansas. She had a second son named William Milton Dunning born 9 Apr 1858. Milton had a daughter Kate I. born in Kansas in 1858 also. Milton and his family could have lived in Kansas with or near his sister during that time.

Rumor has it that Milton was killed sometime during or shortly after the Civil War. It could have been on what was known as "Bloody Kansas".

FOUND THIS UNDER ISAAC BEEBE ON ROOTSWEB.COM
THE SPELLING IS DIFFERENT BUT THIS IS THE WAY
IT IS SPELLED IN LEE CO.
HOPE THIS HELPS
J.
