Hi Ron. Good to hear of someone else researching a Ryan line. I'm not sure if there is a relationship here but Keokuk, IO plays into my line for sure. Edward Ryan in my line, son of James Ryan, died in Keokuk in 1894. His wife sold their property and moved to Missouri shortly after. I always figured there may be other family there but have not found any as of yet. Edward's father, James Ryan, per the Bio that is in my tree and consistent with family lore has him from County Kilkenny. James was born in 1812 and Edward in 1844. From a marriage record I found for a James Ryan who married a Susan Hearte in 1836 in Ireland, the marriage took place in the Catholic parish of Lisdowney. For Catholics it seems the records are more by parish than town. I'd be interested in seeing your tree and if we have any common connection around the Ryan's if you let me know the name of it on Ancestry.
