In Response To: Birdwood Keokuk history (Rebecca Everett)

Hi
Just happened upon your request. There are not very many of us, and as far as I know none in the US, although there is a Don Burdwood in Portland Maine. The family split in the 17th century due to religious differences, and Don's ancestor's changed the spelling of their name. My Dad might know of a Birdwood in Maryland in 1855; I'll ask him and let you know. The Field Marshall was my Grandfather's uncle. We live in Gloucestershire.
Regards
James Birdwood
