Coffmans in Lee County 1840-1880

COFFMAN, MCCORMICK, STEVENS, WICKERD, PARRISH

I'm looking for any help in identifying my great-great grandfather Coffman. My great-grandfather Jennings Abanar (J.A.) Coffman was born in Lee County 19 January, 1850 to a man named Coffman and a mother of maiden name Stevens who was the widow of a man named Wickerd. J.A.'s father died in Lee County of T.B. in February 1852. His mother married a Joe McCormick and later an Ira Parrish, who held land in Des Moines township. J.A. went on to own land in Des Moines township and married Eliza Jane Stowell. They had two children there before moving to Furnas County, Nebraska in the late 1870's.

Any ideas how to narrow the search? There were other contemporaneous Coffmans in Lee County but I haven't found any firm connections.
