Henry K. Love, propr Alpine Coal Co., res Concert bet 1st and 2d

Thomas C. Love, express messenger, bds Tepfer House

In the 1879 History of Lee Co., Iowa, page 702--
J.M. Love Judge U.S.Dist. Court

In the 1887 History of Lee Co., Iowa, pages 491 & 492 there is a lengthy Bio of J.M. Love, Judge. In short he was born in Virginia, March 4, 1819. His parents were John S. and Mary (Vermillion) Love. Bio gives his education, serving in the Mexican and resumed his law practive in Ohio after this conflict. He eventually moved to Lee Co., Iowa and married in 1846 Miss Mary Thomasson and by this union had four children--William, George, Mary and Henry. Mrs. Love departed this life in 1861 and the Judge was a second time married, Miss Mary Millburn. Four children were born to this union, Milburn, Elizabeth, Sidney and James
