I'm looking for documentation on my ggggrandfather, Samuel Jewett. I have an 1842 marriage record to Sophia Lance in Lee County, but no clues to his origin or parents. I assume he was born around 1820, and think he was in Ohio before Iowa. I'm hoping an Iowa obituary might shed some light. I'm open to any suggestions.
