In Response To: Looking for g'grandmother's family (Victoria Boroff)

The name Hargier (also HARGER) can be traced from Derby, Connecticut rought around 1642. Down through the years to New York and Ohio. That is where I've determined that the family split in three directions. Some stayed in Ohio and can still be found there today. Some went to Michigan, and there is still a HARGER cemetary just north of Jackson, Michigan. Ironically I was stationed in Jackson for nearly five years and never knew this until I retired thirteen years ago. The third part of the family continued to Illinois. My dad's mother was a HARGER. Dad was born in Earlville, Illinois. This particular Harger family is the only one I've ever found that ever had spelling of "HARGIER". Another spelling is HARDYEAR. Let me know if you need more information.
