Raymond Wilson

Raymond Junior Wilson, 73, Heritage Rehabilitation Center, Cedar Rapids, died at 12:10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at the center following a lengthy illness.

He was born July 25, 1927, at Fort Madison, the son of Ray Oral and Nevada S. Bedell Wilson. He married Ardis Miona Saar, June 30, 1951, at Fort Madison. She preceded him in death Aug. 2, 2000.

He retired as a supervisor at the DuPont Company with 29 years of service with the Pinkerton Security. He also worked at Sheaffer Pen from 1946 to 1972. He was a member of Santa Fe Methodist Church, Fort Madison and A.A.R.P.

He is survived by one daughter, Diane R. Wilson, Iowa City; two sons, Steven L., Moline, Ill. and David C., Cedar Rapids; one grandson; one sister, Betty Fish, Iowa City; and one brother, John M., Fort Madison.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, two sisters and one infant son.

Friends may call after 1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 18, at King-Lynk Funeral Home, Fort Madison, where the family will meet with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Jan. 19, at the funeral home, with Rev. Kathleen Danforth officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison.

A memorial has been established for the American Heart Association-Operation Stroke Foundation and contributions may be left at King-Lynk Funeral Home.
