Vernett Bride
Leland Vernett Bride, age 81, route 6, Bloomfield, Ia., died Feb. 18, 1992 at the Davis County Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born Nov. 8, 1910, in the Dunnville area of Davis County to Charlie and Effie Watts Bride.
He married L. Irene Hill on March, 1942, in Lancaster, Mo., at the Christian parsonage by the Rev. T.M. Walton.
He has always been a resident and farmer of Davis County. He was a graduate of Bloomfield High School, a member of the Bloomfield Christian Church, and a 4-H leader for several years. He loved his farm work, livestock and his family.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, Bill and Ron Bride of Bloomfield, one brother, Raymond, of Belknap; also, three grandsons, Phillip, Kent and Monte Bride, a wonderful daughter-in-law, Joanne Bride and a wonderful friend, Phyllis Aeschliman of Bloomfield and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, LaVerne.
The service was at the Priester Funeral Chapel on Friday, Feb. 21, 1992, at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. Don Macy. Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery.
