David Crum, of Keokuk, some time since tell heir to an estate of between one and two hundred thousand dollars. The sequel we find in the Gate City of the 17th:
David Crum died in one of the cells at the Calaboose on Wednesday night. He was arrested on the day previous for indecent exposure of his person on the streets. He ate supper the preceding evening and went to bed in his usual health. Yesterday morning the calaboose keeper unlocked the cell and threw open the door. Crum failing to make his appearance for breakfast, one of the prisoners was sent to arouse him, and returned with the information that he was dead. Acting Coroner Thomas Martin was notified of the fact and at once summoned a jury and held an inquest upon the body, resulting in a verdict to the effect that the deceased came to his death from an apoplectic fit super induced by habits of intemperance.
