Charles P. Carlson, 67, a native of Holland, Sweden, and a resident of this city for about twenty-five years died at the Graham hospital at 6:30 this morning. Death was caused by a complication of diseases from which he had suffered for several months. He had, however, been confined to bed for only three weeks.

The deceased was very well known in this city where he was a highly respected and honored citizen. He was for a number of years employed in railroad shops here, but had retired several years ago.

He was a member of the Swedish Mutual Aid society and had been connected with this society since its organization. He also was a member of the Swedish Lutheran church in which he was an active and valued member.

The deceased was married in Sweden to Josephine Carlson in his native country, thirty-nine years ago in March. When he first came to this country his family remained in Sweden until he had located. He brought his family here shortly after making this first trip. Later he returned a number of times, spending about a year in Sweden on each visit.

His wife passed away three years ago, since which time he had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. H. L. Merrick, 1117 Reid street.

He is survived by four children, two sisters, and one brother. His children are Severin B. Carlson, Waco, Texas, Mrs. H. L. Merrick of this city, Amanda Carlson, 1117 Reid street and Frank Carlson of this city. Both his sisters and his brother live in Sweden
