C. W. Ackley, know to his many friends here as "Bud" Ackley, passed away at a hospital at Mt. Pleasant, Ia., early this morning from apoplexy. Mr. Ackley had been ill for three years. The body will be brought to Keokuk tonight and will be taken to the undertaking establishment of I. S. Ackley.

The decedent was born in Keokuk on August 5, 1876, being thirty-nine years of age at the time of his death. He had resided in Keokuk all of his life with the exception of the last three years.

For many years he was employed at the Huiskamp Bros. shoe factory in various capacities. Later he worked at the J. C. Hubinger Bors. company cereal plant. About three years ago he was overcome with the heat while working at the plant and had to be taken home. Since that time he had been ill. He was taken to the hospital at Mt. Pleasant on May 10, 1913.

He is survived by his father, W. H. Ackley of this city, and the following sisters: Mrs. H. E. Chick, Mrs. J. F. Lyngar and Mas. W. H. Ackley of Kansas City, Mo.
