June 5, 1978Death takes Al Sporkman
Al Sporkman, 66, of West Point, son-in-law of Leonard Hisel, 807 W. Burlington, died Friday at the Fort Madison Hospital. He had been in failing health the past few years.
The services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at West Point with burial at St. Paul. Memorials are to the West Point Catholic Church.
Sporkman was born Sept. 26, 1911 on the family farm which he owns. He was married to Ruth Hisel of Fairfield on May 26, 1942. She survives. He moved from the farm to West Point when he retired two years ago.
Besides his wife and his father-in-lw, he is survived by one brother, one sister and several nieces and nephews.
