Father and Daughter Drowned.
Ezra Parmenter and his four-year-old daughter lost their lives in the Mississippi river at Fort Madison. The family, consisting of Mr, Parmenter, his wife, daughter and two-year-old son, were in a launch when the top caught on an overhanging limb of a tree along the island and the launch was capsized. The wife and son miraculously escaped drowning, reaching shore by a narrow margin.
