Edward J. Mansheim, Sr., 69, Fort Madison RR2, died at 12:15 p.m.Monday at the Hospitality House, 703 Avenue D. death terminated a prolonged illness.
Mr. Mansheim was born Nov. 10, 1894 in Fort Madison and was a life long resident of this area. He was a farmer by occupation. On Jan. 28,1919, here, he married Adelaide Bendlage, who survives. He was a member of St. Joseph`s Catholic church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Edward Mansheim, Jr.,and Robert Mansheim, both of Fort Madison; four daughters, Mrs.Lawrence (Agnes) Kruss, Houghton, Mrs. Erwin (Evelyn) Kiesner, Fort Madison, Mrs. Paul (Alice) Snyder, Burlington, and Mrs. James (Betty)Meieroto, West Point, two brothers, John Mansheim and Louis Mansheim,both of Fort Madison, two sisters, Mrs Alice Unenheke, Ossien, Iowaand Mrs. Carl (Virginia) Jurs, Crystal Lake, Il.; and 18grandchildren.
His parents were John and Bernadine Mansheim.
Funeral services will be at 9 am. Wednesday in St. Joseph`s church. TheRev. L.M. Boyle will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart cemetery. The body is at Nieters Chapel where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
