FRANCES TESTMAN
Frances V. Testman, 97, of Keokuk died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013 at her home.
Born Feb. 14, 1916, in Montrose, she was the daughter of Theodore and Lelia Best Carlson. On Sept. 25, 1935, she married Raymond Testman in Keokuk, and he died March 3, 1993.
Mrs. Testman worked 25 years at Sheller Globe in Keokuk, retiring in 1978.
She graduated from Argyle High School in 1934. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Keouk, Lutheran church ladies aid and the
Estes circle of the church. She also was a member of Sandusky Ladies Aid, Keokuk Garden Club, Sheller Globe Retirement Club 444 and AARP.She enjoyed reading, gardening, tending her flowers and baking. She was known as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed time with family.
Survivors include three daughters, LaVon Kienest of Manassas, Va., Irene Shoemaker of Taylorville, Ill., and Carrie Testman Anderson, of Keokuk; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ina Wardell of Arlington, Texas.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one grandchild, five brothers, two in infancy, and five sisters, one in infancy.
The memorial service for Mrs. Testman will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, with the Rev. Rodney Underwood officiating. Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. before the service, and burial will be in the Scandinavian Cemetery in Argyle.
Memorials have been established for First Lutheran Church and the Scandinavian Cemetery.
