Was A Beautiful Life

Eliza J. Pickering was born Oct. 26, 1872; married to Lewis Harris Jan. 9, 1890; died Aug. 9, 1897, near Charleston, Ia. This is a brief record of her whose sudden death has cast a gloom over the home and community where she lived. Mrs. Harris died of heart disease, from which she had been a sufferer for two years. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thom. Pickering and was a lady of amiable disposition and true character. She was a devoted wife and mother and will be sadly missed among those who knew her best. She leaves a husband, two children, Earl and Dana and a large number of relatives to grieve that she has been taken from them. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Shearer of Montrose at the M.E. church at Charleston. Interment was made at the Donnellson cemetery.
