Mrs. Elizabeth Neyens Died of Pneumonia Monday Evening After Two Weeks Illness

At the family home, 922 South Fourteenth street occurred the death of Mrs. Elizabeth Neyens, wife of John Neyens, an old and respected resident of this city. She was sixty-nine years of age and death came after an illness of two weeks caused by pneumonia. Her maiden name was Elizabeth Smith and she was a native of Holland. She came to this city forty-four years ago and since that time Keokuk has been her home. She was united in marriage in this city to John Neyens and to this union were born the following children: George Neyens, John Neyens, Mrs. F.J. Ewers and Miss Elizabeth Neyens of this city, and Mrs. T.J. Frier of St. Joseph, Mo.. All of the children and the husband were at her bedside when she passed away. The deceased is also survived by brothers Henry and Nicholas Smith of Breada, Iowa and sister Mrs. Maggie Dreaburg of Grand Rapids Michigan. Eight grandchildren also survive. She was a consistent member of St. Mary’s Catholic church from which place of worship the funeral will take place. No definite arrangements have been made in regards to the funeral.
