Old resident of Keokuk is called home
Mrs. Minnie Rosena Loewenstein dies suddenly at her home Sunday morning-Funeral to be held Wednesday.
Mrs. Minnie Rosena Loewenstein a life long resident of Keokuk died at her home Sunday morning very suddenly. Her death was a profound shock to the many friends of this highly esteemed woman.
The daughter of Charles and Barbara Smith Schulz, she was born in Keokuk on December 31, 1869, and spent all of her life in this city where she won the affection and respect of all for her kindly and thoughtful nature and wealth of womanly qualities.
On September 3, 1889, she was united in marriage with Edward H. Loewenstein who preceded her in death on August 29, 1920.
Four children were born to this union, all of whom survive. They are, Robert C. Loewenstein and Mrs. Lee R. McManis of Keokuk, Mrs. Marguerite Hoffman and Ralph Loewenstein, both of Minneapolis, MInn. She is survived also by two daughter in laws, two sons in law, several grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Julia Wolf of Keokuk amd Mrs. George Mayer of Elmhurst, Ill and three brothers, Charles J, ALbert and Edward Schulz all of Keokuk.
Mrs. Loewenstein was an active and a life long member of St. Paul's Evangelical church and of the Ladies Aid Society and Mission Societies of that church . She was also a member of the Rebekah lodge.
The body has been removed from the Pearson and Schmidt Funeral Home to the residence 1912 Timea Street. Funeral services will be held from St. Paul's church at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon.
