T. C. Mollers Old resident called home
Aged shoemaker dies suddenly at his home here this morning from heart attack - Funeral Servies to be held Monday.
Tony C. Mollers, veteran Keokuk shoemaker, died very suddenly at his home , 325 1/2 Main street early this morning. The aged man was found lying in a corner of the room where he had evidently fallen after being sticken with a heart attack.
He had clothed himself, made his bed, and was apparently in the act of preparing his breakfast when seized by the attack.
Mr. Mollers has been in poor health for some time and was subject to heart attacks. He had never fully recovered from the effects of an automobile accident several years ago. His large circle of friends were deeply shocked to learn of his sudden death.
The son of Henry and Johanna Paustian Mollers he was born in Keokuk on August 5, 1859 and spent his entire life here.
Early in his life he took up the shoe making trade and for years operated a shoe repair shop of his own. He abandoned this shop in 1914 and retired several years ago.
He was very active in the I. O O. F. work and was a member of the Keokuk lodge. Earlier he was a member of the old Herman lodge.
Surviving him are a brother. W. H. Mollers of Summitville and a sister, Mrs. Emma Megchelsen of Keokuk. There are also four nephews and nieces.
The body will be removed from the Pearson and Schmidt Funeral Home to the home of the sister 1520 Timea street Saturday. The funeral services will be held from the Pearson and Schmidt Funeral Home at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon.
