HAS PASSED AWAY
Death of Mont Emerson Occurs Yesterday Afternoon

Friday afternoon at 1245 o'clock Mont Emerson a well known citizen, passed away in his home, 410 North Tenth Street, after an illness of ten weeks duration. Death resulted from congestion of the brain. He was born in Massland, O., in 1848.
He was the son of Captain and Mrs. C. L. Emerson and is survived by his father, his mother having died about nine months ago. Early in life he came with the family to Salem, Ia. Later they removed to West Point and fifteen years ago Mr.
Emerson came to this city which he has made his home every since. For the last ten years he has been in the employ of C. M. Cook and has always been held high in the esteem of his fellow citizens. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Isabel
Emerson and one son besides his father, Captain C. L. Emerson of Memphis and four brothers, Clarence of Chillicothe, Mo.; C. L. of Kahoka; H. E. of Milwaukee and A. L. of Keokuk, to whom the sympathy of all is extended in their bereavement.
