James Earl Cruikshank
Funeral services for James Earl Cruikshank, 45, Ft Madison, were at 1:30 p.m. Saturday Mar 20 at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
The Rev James Fyfe officiated. Burial was in the Donnell Cemetery, Donnellson.
Mr. Cruikshank died at 12:10 p.m. Wenesday , March 17, in Veterans hospital, Iowa City.
He was born Oct 21, 1930 at Donnellson and was a lifelong resident of the Lee County area.
Mr. Curikshank retired from the Fort Madison Fire Department in January this year as an assistant chief after 15 years of service in the department.
Mr. Cruikshank was of the Presbyterian faith. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and a member of Joppa Lodge No. 136 A. F. & A. M of Montrose.
On March 3, 1951 at New London, he married Laura Lee Hummell, who died May 11, 1972.
Surviviing are his parents, T. C. and Elaine Rokey Cruikshank, Montrose, a daughter Mrs. Phillip M (Nancy Lynn) Buckingham jr, Richton Park Ill, a sister, Miss Janet Cruikshank, Montrose and several uncles and aunts.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother and a nephew.
Masonic services were conducted Friday evening Mar 19.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.
