Mrs. Earl Rokey
Mrs. Lucille Rokey, 39, passed away in Sacred Heart hospital in Fort Madison at 5:35a.m. Thursday, Dec 2 following an operation. She had been ill only two days.
Born July 14, 1915 near Argyle, she was a lifelong resident of this vicinity and a member of the Embury Methodist church, of the W.S. C.S. of the church and chaplain of the DeMolay Mothers club.
On August 13, 1936 at Canton Ill she was united in marriage to Earl Rokey, who survives as do also one son Robert and one daughter Carolyn, both at home, her father A. W. Church of Argyle, three brothers, Lester and Kenneth Church , both of Argyle and Bernard of Fort Madison and one sister, Mrs. Jean Glassford of Arglyle.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lois and Mabel.
Funeral services were held in Embury Methodist church Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. Everett K. Burham officiating.
Mrs. Thos J. Thornton and Richard Jones sang "God Will Take Care of You" and "Beyond the Sunset" accompanied by Mrs. Burham
The body was laid to rest in the Donnell cemetery, the following being pallbeareers, Paul Bowen, L L Hodson, Wesley Perrott, Richard Koller, Bryan Starr and David T. Hirshler.
