W. M Hanson dies Sunday Funeral Wed.
W. Maurice Hanson , 74, formerly of 614 Concert Street died at 9:10 Sunday night at the Oakdale Sanitarium where he had been a patient since January 15, 1954.
The son of the late John and Louise Pederson Hanson, he was born May 14, 1888 in Keokuk where he lived all his life prior to going to Oakdale. He was of the Methodist faith and a painter by trade. He had been a member of the Painters’ Union.
He was married to Laura Hagerty October 10, 1901 in Keokuk. She preceded him in death on August 9, 1944.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Frank (Majorie) Green of Warsaw, Ill, and Mrs. P. J. (Anna) Jeffers of Argyle, one son Edward Hanson of Keokuk, a sister Mrs. Louis Dorson of Keokuk, five grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death besides his wife by a son, Walter N. (Bing) Hanson Jr. on August 23, 1954 and two brothers Victor and Wesley Hanson.
Service will be held at 2:00 O’clock Wednesday afternoon at the Schmidt Memorial Home with the Rev H. Grady Rogers Jr of Montrose officiating. Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Gardens.
