Helen Swanson
Helen L. Swanson of 1217 Blondeau St. died at 8:45 am today at Keokuk Area Hospital East. She has been ill for the past two years.
She was born on July 23, 1905 in Keokuk, the daughter of Oscar and Nettie Hagerty Swanson. She was a lifelong resident.
She was employed by the Northwestern Bell Telephone Co from 1928 until her retirement in 1964 and was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Richard (Elsie) Statler of Keokuk and by cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be held at 2pm Wednesday in the chapel of Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Merlin J. Ackerman officiating.
The body has been donated to medical science. The family suggests memorials to the church.
