Swanson Rites will be held here Saturday. (July 17, 1936)
Body of the late Mrs. Anna Greta Swanson will arrive here Saturday morning for Funeral Services which will be at 10am.
The body of the late Mrs. Anna Greta Swanson, former Keokuk resident whose death occurred in Des Moines at 1:15pm Thursday as a result of heat exhaustion will arrive in Keokuk Saturday morning for funeral services which will be held form the
Cunningham Funeral Home at 10 o'clock.
Mrs. Swanson, who was 91 years old at the time of her death had been in poor health for four years.
Born in Lemshippen Sweden on March 25, 1845 she came to Keokukk in 1867 and resided here for many years where she held the esteem of all with whom she came in contact.
In 1868 she married Andrew Swanson who died in 1926. Nine children were born to them, two dying in infancy.
She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Surviving her are four sons, Albert, Arthur, Ed, and George all of Keokuk and a daughter Mrs. H.E. Peterson of Des Moines. There are also a brother, the Reverend August Erickson of Valentine Nebraska and five grandchildren.
