Mrs. Henry (Theresa Hellige) Krogmeier

"West Point Bee", West Point, Lee co., Iowa, dated June 26, 1924:

Mrs. Thersea Krogmeier, a lifelong resident of West Point twp., passed away at home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Sallen, in Fort Madison, Saturday, June 21, 1924, aged 76 yrs., 5 mos.

Theresa Hellige was the eldest daughter of William and Angeline Hellige and was born in Fort Madison in February, 1848.

She was united in marriage with Henry Krogmeier, November 21, 1867, and had spent her entire life in West Point twp. and Ft. Madison. To this union were born 12 children, two having died in infancy. Her husband preceded her in death 27 yrs. ago.

Four sons and six daughters survive to mourn her loss. They are Stephen, William, Anthony, John, Mrs. Frank Sallen, and Mrs. George Reisinger, all of Ft. Madison, Sister M. Fabian of the Franciscan order at Dubuque, Sister M. Honesta, Sister M. Eurasia, Sister Delphina of the order of Notre Dame at St. Louis. She is also survived by two brothers, Joseph and William Hellige, two sisters, Mrs. Henry Decker and Mrs. Herman Kreiger, 22 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren besides many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at Sacred Heart church in Fort Madison Monday morning. Sacred Heart cemetery. Intermanet was in Rev. Father Hoffman officated.
