Fort Madison - Suzan Rogers Sweeney, 62, resident of Wever most of her life, died at her home Monday at 2 p.m. after an illness of several years.
She was born at New Boston, Ill., July 30, 1883. She was a member of the Wever Christian Church, and good Hope Rebekah Lodge. The Rebekahs will be in charge of services at the graveside.
She was married to M. J. Sweeney, June 12, 1907. He survives with three sons, Kermit and Donald (both) of Wever; John, in the armed forces in Japan; one daughter, Mrs. Roberta Lauffer, Fort Madison; two grandsons; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Lange, Fort Madison; and Mrs. Stella Sonneborn, Indianapolis, Ind.
Services will be held at the Wever Christian Church Thursday at 2:30 p.m., with Reverend Gerald M. Rosenberger of Burlington in charge. Burial will be in the Beebe cemetery near Wever and the body is at Clements Chapel in Fort Madison.
