Marjorie Hanna

Marjorie Joan Hanna, 74, of Mount Pleasant, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006, at her home.

Born Oct. 15, 1931, near Crawfordsville, she was the daughter of Marshall and Anna Meier Martin. On April 26, 1952, she married Robert W. Hanna in Fort Madison. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Hanna had various jobs over the years and worked on the family farm.

She was a graduate of the Consolidated High School in Winfield. She was of the Methodist faith. She enjoyed fishing and all wildlife.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Hanna of St. Charles, Mo., and Michael Hanna of Maplewood, Minn.; two daughters, Sheila McKenzie and Karen Noble, both of Mount Pleasant; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandsons.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.

According to her wishes, her body has been cremated.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant.

A private family graveside service will be in Long Creek Cemetery, southeast of Danville, with the Rev. Edward Peterson officiating.

The Cremation Society of Eastern-Western-Central Iowa is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial has been established for Oakland Mills Park.
