James Alva Miller 2/8/1946 - 2/15/2012

James Alva Miller was born February 8, 1946, in Sheldon, IA, the son of Lester Ray Miller and Florence Elizabeth (Wilson) Miller.

He attended the Sheldon schools, graduating in 1964. Jim joined the U.S. Navy in 1965 and was honorably discharged in 1971

Jim furthered his education at Iowa Lakes Community College at Estherville, IA and at Northwest Iowa Community College at Sheldon, IA.

Jim was united in marriage April 28, 1995 to Ann Collins at the First Presbyterian Church in Algona, IA.

Jim enjoyed being with his family and friends. He enjoyed attending school events with grand children.

Jim left us too soon as he died February 15, 2012, at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona, IA.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ann and sons Ryan and Nate, Angie (Steve) Eischied of Algona; Julie Simonson of Cedar Falls; also grandchildren, Karly, Meredith and Alex Miller; Seth and Jordan Eischied; Grant and Josee Simonson.

Jim also leaves siblings Merlynn and Patricia Miller, Sheldon; Roger and Jo Ann Miller, Rancho Cucamonga, CA; Archie and Johanna Miller, Diamond Bar, CA; Donna and Larry Menke, Sioux City, IA; Lester and Merry Ann Miller, Livingston, TX. Also sisters-in-law Angeline Miller, Primghar, IA and Ethel Miller, Sibley, IA.

The family recognizes Jamie and Jess Weishar, and son Brandon for all their extra love and support.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, Kenneth, Doyle, and Ronald.

The memorial service was Saturday, February 18, 2012, at First Presbyterian Church, Algona, IA. Walter Reemtsma, officiating.

Interment was at East Lawn Cemetery, Algona.
