Sept 7, 1939 - Algona Upper Des Moines - Mrs Barbara Zeller passed away Thursday morning, Aug. 1st, 1939, at the age of 73 years and 18 days. Mrs. Zeller was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Liest and was born August 13, 1866. She spent her entire life in Humboldt and Kossuth counties. On Feb. 7, 1888, she was united in marriage to John Zeller in St Joseph's church. To this union were born two children, Mary (Mrs. Wm. Haglind) of Armstrong and John of here, both of whom survive. Mr. Zeller preceded her in death on Oct 29, 1929.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 9 o'clock in St. Joseph's Catholic church with Father George Theobald reading the requiem high mass. Interment was in St. Joseph's cemetery. Casket bearers were Peter Kayser, John Origer, M.T. McGuire, Leo Thilges, George Bormann and Anton Becker.

Mrs. Zeller, besides her son and daughter, is also survived by two grandsons, Alfred and Bernard Zeller, a sister, Mrs. T.J. Meisenberg of Minneapolis, and four brothers, Joe and Frank of Humboldt, Jake of Ottosen and John of India, S.D., and many other relatives and friends.

A sister, Mrs. Walter Hanna and two brothers, Charles and George, preceded her in death.

Those from a distance to attend the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. William Haglind of Armstrong, Mrs. T.J. Meisenberg and daughter, Beulah, of Minneapolis, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Liest and family, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Liest and family, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hanna, Ray Hanna, and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hanna, all of Humboldt, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Liest of Ottosen, John Zeller and Mrs. Will Zeller of Clara City, Minn., and Mr. and Mrs. Jake Zeller and son, George of Watertown, S.D.
