Feb 2, 1967 - Kossuth County Advance - Mathias Zeimet, 81, retired St. Joe farmer, died Saturday night, Jan. 28 at a Humboldt nursing home where he had been living. He was 81 years of age.

His wife, Anna Marie Weydert Zeimet, preceded him in death in 1922. Children surviving are Susan, Mrs. Edward Andrilenas, Madison Lake, Mont.; Eugene Zeimet, Bode; Elizabeth, Mrs. Frank Rathke, Humboldt; 15 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Justina Kreuscher, Tracy, Minn.; Mrs. Anna Wagner, Algona; Dominic, West Bend; Peter of Humboldt; Frank of West Bend; Lena, Mrs. John Kemna of Bancroft; and Henry of Bode. Two brothers preceded him in death.

Mr. Zeimet was born in Humboldt county, May 25, 1885, son of Henry and Mary Zeimet. He was married in 1914, and the family lived in Kossuth county a lifetime. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic church in St. Joe, Father Leo Schumacher officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Hamilton Funeral Home of Algona is handling arrangements. Pallbearers will be Raymond Zeimet, Ronald Zeimet, Marvin Weydert, Allen Wagner, Howard Weydert and Don Weydert. Mr. Zeimet was a member of St. Joseph parish and the St. Joe Knights of Columbus.
