July 21, 1966 - Kossuth county Advance - Henry Zeimet, 71, of Bancroft died very suddenly at his home on Saturday morning, July 16 of a heart attack. Death came about 10:30 a.m. He had been in failing health for the past four years, but his death was unexpected. He had visited at the home of his daughter in Bancroft the previous evening and apparently was feeling fine.
Funeral service were held Tuesday morning at 9:30 at St Josephs catholic church with Rt Rev. Msgr. J.H. Schultes officiating. Burial took place in St. Joseph's cemetery at Bode. Garry Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Ed Richter, Clarence Miller, Elmer Schneider, Glenn Cowing, Joe Wesselman, and Art Renger.
Survivors include his wife, one son and five daughters. They are Arthur Zeimet of Bode, Mrs. George (Gertrude) Diers of Bancroft, Mrs. Bernard (Elsie) Kunkel of Wesley, Mrs. James (Josephine) Kunkel of Algona, Mrs. Orville (Gladys) Thill of Irvington, and Mrs. Jerry (Marjorie) Wilhite of Corwith. Two brothers also survive, John Zeimet of Livermore and Edward Zeimet of Hawthorne, Calif. There are also twenty three grandchildren.
Four sons preceded him in death, Ernest, Eugene, Julius and Leo.
Henry W. Zeimet was born on Aug. 6, 1894 at Wesley, Ia., the son of Peter J. and Susan Steiners Zeimet. He received his education in the Wesley schools and was united in marriage to Lona Illg at St. Joe May 29, 1918. The couple farmed in the St. Joe area after their marriage until 1937 when they farmed near Bancroft. They retired in 1960 to their present home in Bancroft.
