June 3, 1948 - West Bend Journal - Joseph, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Wagner, died at the Veteran's Hospital May 25 at the age of 56 years and 5 months. Services were held May 27 at St. Joseph's church, Rev. George Theobald officiating.

Deceased was born at Bode on December 25, 1891. He spent most of his life in this community. He is survived by Mike, Agnes, and Dennis Wagner of Ottosen; Mrs. Simon (Ann) Weber of Whittemore; and Mrs. Justine Mertz of Algona.

Mr. Wagner was buried with full military honors with the Hagg Post of Algona in charge. Pall bearers were cousins of the deceased: Peter and Leonard Weydert, Herman and Oswald Thilges, and John and Francis Pfeffer. Schutter's Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral.
