Feb 22, 1907 - Algona Courier - Peter Thilges, who lived northwest of St. Joseph, whom we mentioned last week as being too ill to undergo a surgical operation, died at his home last Friday, of cancer of the liver. We have not the exact data of Mr. Thilges life, but he was about sixty years of age. He was born in Germany, and moved to his St. Joseph's farm 30 years ago, and has always been a prominent farmer and citizen in his neighborhood. He has also been a very prosperous farmer and accumulated considerable wealth through his intelligence and activity.

He leaves a wife and five sons. His funeral occurred at the Catholic church in St. Joseph's last Monday, and was one of the largest attended funerals ever known at that place.
