Feb 22, 1967 - Algona Upper Des Moines - Casper Thilges, 84, lifelong St. Joe area farmer, died Friday morning at the Good Samaritan Home here. He had been a resident there for the past 11 years.

Funeral services for him were held Monday morning at the St Joseph Catholic church. Father Leo Schumacher officiated and burial was in the St. Joe cemetery with Hamilton's in charge.

He was born Nov. 30, 1882 in Riverdale township near St. Joe, the son of Nicholas and Margaret Thilges. He was never married and farmed for many years near St Joe.

One brother, Roney Thilges, of Tracy, MN, survives and he was preceded in death by 6 brothers & 2 sisters. Pallbearers will be David Schneider, David Smith, Bob Altman, Joel Reding, Darrel Lentsch, & Howard Kayser.
