Sept 13, 1960 - Algona Upper Des Moines - Fenton — Funeral Services were held Monday, Sept. 12, for Mrs Norbert Thilges. Mrs Thilges, age 36, died Friday at 2:25 p.m. at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minnesota. She had been ill several weeks and had under gone surgery for a brain tumor.

Mrs Thilges, was born May 30, 1924 at St. Joseph, Iowa, daughter of Mr and Mrs Joseph Stattelman. She attended St. Joseph parochial school. October 14, 1947 she was united in marriage to Norbert Thilges. Previous to their moving to Fenton August 1st the family lived in the Seneca Community. Norbert Thilges has operated the Fenton Recreation Parlors since mid-February of this year.

Surviving Mrs Thilges is her husband; 3 daughters and one son: Jolene, 12; Sandra, 9; LeAnn, 6; and Kelly 2. Also surviving is her mother Mrs Rose Stattelman of St. Joseph, a brother, Frank of Buffalo Center, 3 sisters, Lorena, Mrs Joseph Vollmar of Bancroft; Helen, Mrs Peter Nellis, Spirit Lake; and Anita, Mrs Edward Thilges of St. Joseph.

Mrs Thilges was a member of the C.D.A., St. John's Catholic church at Bancroft, and also attended St. Michael's Catholic church at Whittemore. Services were held at 9:30 Monday at St. John's Catholic church at Bancroft and burial was at St. Joe Cemetery. Monsignor J. H. Schultes was the officiating pastor. The parish Rosary was recited at 9 p.m. Saturday evening.
