March 25, 1952 - Algona Upper Des Moines - Final rites for Mrs. Anna K. Thilges, 66, were held Saturday morning at 9:30 o'clock in St. Cecelia's Catholic church with Father P.P. Gearen officiating. Interment was in the St. Joe cemetery. Mrs. Thilges died March 19 in St. Ann hospital. She had been ill with a heart condition for several months.

A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Etringer, Anna was born Jan. 20, 1887, at Springbrook, Iowa. Following her marriage to Joseph Thilges on Sept. 19, 1909, she moved to St. Joe where they farmed until five years ago when they retired to Algona. Mr. Thilges died three years ago.

Surviving are four sons and two daughters. They are: Arthur, Aloisis, Ben, of Algona; Leo of Bode; (Viola) Mrs. Ray Krebs of Algona; and (Florence) Mrs. Mike Hofer of Sexton. Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Dom E. Thilges and Mrs. Frank Feller of Maquoketa; Mrs. Geo. Schaffer of Clinton; Mrs. Jake Welby of Del Rapids, S.D.; Mrs. John Thilges of West Bend; Chris and Mrs. Will Thilges of Algona. Pallbearers were Joseph Schaefer, Albert Thilges, Raphael Thilges, Sylvester Thilges, Charles Berte, and Ray Ziemet. Hamilton Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
