Dec 5, 1974 - West Bend Journal - Funeral services for George Schaller were held Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church, with Fr. Louis Greving officiating, burial was in the St. Joseph cemetery at Bode, with the Schellhammer Funeral Home in charge.

George was born on June 28, 1887 at West Bend, where he grew up and was educated. On January 21, 1914 he was united in marriage to Susan Marnach at West Bend, where they farmed until 1960 when they moved into West Bend. George passed away last Sunday afternoon at the Palo Alto County
Hospital, in Emmetsburg reaching the age of 87 years.

Surviving are: his widow, Susan; children, Raymond and Lauren both of LuVerne; Mrs. Clarence Thilges of West Bend; Mrs. Frank Welter of Hardy; Delmar of Fort Dodge; and Mrs. Mary Welter of Bode; 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 1 brother and 1 sister: Edward Schaller of Ortonville, Minn, and Mrs. Henry Hopper of Indianapolis, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and 1 sister. Casket bearers were: Duane Thilges, Ronald Thilges, Duane Schaller, Frankie Welter, Ray Welter and Delmer Welter.
