Sept 29, 1921 - West Bend Journal - The death of J.P. Reding mentioned in last week's issue of the Journal, which occurred on Tuesday, September 20th, was very sad. Coming as it did was a great shock and sorrow to his relatives and friends.

He worked his father's farm for six years, later buying a place six miles east of West Bend where he resided at the time of his death. On February 21, 1911, he was united in marriage with Miss Katherine Ternes, who with a little daughter, Evelyn, aged 7 years, mourn the untimely death of a loving husband and father.

He is also survived by four brothers, seven half brothers and eight half sisters. They are: Adam, of Rodman; George, of Ottosen; William, of St. Joe; Peter, of Monterey, Minn.; Andrew; of Ottosen; Nick, of Whittemore; Louis, of Algona; Mrs. Kate Capesius, of Algona; Mrs. John Bauman, of Bode; Mrs. Henry Thilges, of Bode; Mrs. Matt Kisch, of Bode; Susie, Mary, Helen and Clara Reding, of Algona.

Funeral services were held Thursday morning from the Catholic church at St. Joe, Father Dobberstein of West Bend officiating. Interment was made in the St. Joe cemetery. The pall bearers were six cousins of the deceased, as follows: Joe and Mike Wagner, John Weydert, John and Andrew Erpelding and John Reding. The great number who were present at the last sad obsequies expressed the esteem and love in which Mr. Reding was held. The Journal unites in extending heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family and other relatives.
