Jan 9, 1929 - Algona Upper Des Moines - Mrs. Mary Knott died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Joe Becker, near St. Joe on December 31. During the past few years Mrs. Knott has made her home with her children and for the past three years lived at the Joseph Becker home.

Mrs. Knott was born in Germany, but came to this country when 18 years old. She was the mother of eleven children, all of whom are living, except one son, Frank, who died five years ago.

The children are: Mrs. Joseph Becker, Mrs. John Becker, living near St. Joseph; Mrs. Anna Heiderschidt, of Ottosen; Mrs. Katie Kirsch of Algona; Mrs. Susan Lenertz of Comfrey, Minnesota; Mrs. Elizabeth Engert of Fairbault, Minnesota; Mrs. Rosa Haas of Fairbault, Minnesota; Mrs. Lucy Dieter of Mason City; Peter of Kimball, Minnesota; and John of Odesa, Minnesota.

Funeral services were held at the St. Joseph Catholic church Thursday morning and burial made in that cemetery. A number of Algona relatives and old friends attended the services.
