April 28, 1949 - Algona Upper Des Moines - Mrs. Mary A. Lentsch, resident of Algona since 1946, and a lifelong resident of Kossuth county, died at her home here April 23, after an illness of two months. Funeral services were held Monday, April 25, at St. Cecelia's Catholic church with Father P.P. Gearen conducting mass. Burial was at St Joe.

Mrs. Lentsch was born at St. Joe Feb. 18, 1888. She was 61 years old at the time of death. She was a daughter of Isadore and Anna Kramer, and her family were prominent St. Joe farmers. She was married to John Lentsch Nov. 24, 1914, at St. Joe and the family farmed until 1946, when they retired and moved to Algona.

Two children survive: Urban, of Algona, and Mrs. Melvin Thilges of Ottosen. Brothers and sisters surviving are Mrs. Theo. Besch, West Bend; Joe Kramer, Whittemore; Mrs. John Besch, West Bend; John Kramer, Waseca, Minn.; Mrs. Geo. Neuman, Bancroft; Sebastian Kramer, Irvington; Adam Kramer and Mrs. John Lenertz, Bode; Mrs. John Cunningham, Rodman. Pallbearers were Marvin Kramer, Robert Cunningham, Ernest Kramer, John Lenertz, Howard Lentsch and Tony Besch. Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Hamilton Funeral Home.
