Oct 25, 1960 - Algona Upper Des Moines - Funeral services for Mrs Margaret Illg, 74, of St. Joe were held in St. Joseph's Catholic church there at 9:30 a.m. today (Tuesday) with Fr. L.C. Schumacher officiating. Burial was at St. Joseph's cemetery and Hamilton Funeral Home, Algona, was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Franklin Wagner, Joel Reding, John Wagner, Garry Frideres, John F. Reding and Donald Becker.

Mrs Illg died Sunday morning at her home in St. Joe. Margaret Kayser, daughter of Michael and Elizabeth Schuh Kayser, was born Aug. 9, 1886 at St Joe and was a lifelong resident of that area. She was married to Fred Illg at St. Joe May 21, 1907. He preceded her in death July 26 this year. The Illgs observed their golden wedding annniversary in 1957.

She is survived by three daughters, Amalie (Mrs George Wagner), Gertrude (Mrs Harold Reding) and Helen (Mrs Alfred Reding); and a son, Herman Illg, all of St Joe; two brothers, John Kayser, Yamhill, Ore. and Casper Kayser, Waseca Minn; four sisters, Kate (Mrs Phillips), Owalonna, Minn., Sister M. Amahe, Dubuque, Ann (Mrs John Thul). St Joe, Elizabeth (Mrs Nick Eischen), St. Benedict; 20 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A daughter preceded her in death. Mrs Illg was an active member of the C.D. of A. at St. Joe.
